to Anne's artwork

Hot Springs artist Ann Shedelbower has been creating the delicate art of Oriental  free brush painting for more than a decade. Blue Moon Gallery has represented her since early 2001 and this is her premier exhibit  as the featured artist.

When Ann discovered Sumi e` painting she fell in love with the simplicity of design and time-honored technique inherent to this medium.  The traditional black ink art strives to capture the essence of the subject with minimal brushstrokes, fusing the perception of the artist’s eye with the traditional technique to create art stunning in its power, yet astoundingly simple at its core.

She  identifies each painting with her  ‘chops’  and signature that are an expression of her artwork -  one chop is defined Confidence and the other is Harmony.   She further explains that these  are the feelings  she strives for as she executes each painting.  During the gallery walk opening reception Ann will also display  the  ‘tools’  she employs to create her artwork.

Please join us during the  February 3rd Gallery Walk Opening Reception at Blue Moon Gallery 718 Central Avenue in Hot Springs.  The artist will be present  to discuss her artwork   from 5 -9 pm.
