Kelly Edwards
A native Arkansan, Kelly Edwards lives and maintains her pottery studio in North Little Rock.
She has studied with Rocky Sapp and Warren Kessler and attended the prestigious Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts in Tennessee. She also has taught ceramic classes at the Arkansas Art Center for the past ten years.
Precision and perseverance best describe Kelly’s work. She is a Raku specialist, a technique that requires more tenacity than luck. She says, “It sometimes takes ten attempts to produce the one piece that works”. Each piece is hand built, carefully engineered and often embellished with subtle carvings and striking copper wire accents.
She has recently devoted her time in her studio to creating wall pieces that make a dramatic impact in stunning iridescent colors. Her masks, torsos and discs have all become popular choices for collectors.
