Diana Ashley
Diana Baker Ashley's work, like the artist herself, is fiercly independent, free-flowing, and adventurous. Diana has worked in clay since the early 1970's , taking pottery at the Arkansas Arts Center. However, it wasn't until the late 1990's that caly became a sculptural medium for her and a passion. While attending a UALR sculpture workshop Diana cast her first bronze using the lost wax method, and since that time many of her sculptures have been reproduced in bronze.
Diana spent much of her youth in Florida and is part of an artistic family. Her mother and her sister are watercolorists; another of her sisters is a jewelry designer. In addition to sculpture, Diana is an avid horse enthusiast and breeder.
Diana Baker Ashley is a Little Rock native. Her work is part of a growing number of private collections. Her sculpture titled Fallen I was featured as part of the 49th Annual Delta Exhibition and Fallen II was in the 51st Annual Delta Exhibit in 2008.
