Blue Moon Gallery - Pleine Lune

About the Gallery

Since 1997, Blue Moon Gallery, 718 Central Avenue in Hot Springs has become a favorite destination for discovering both original and affordable artwork. In 2001 a larger space was acquired to further establish our commitment in the arts district; however the gallery retains the same accessibility and family ownership – Dishongh Scavo and her mother, Pat Scavo.

The Blue Moon Gallery represents national, regional and local fine artists, including sculpture and photography. Many of the artists have artwork for display on the gallery website The website’s monthly gallery news is a great resource for information about the artists and an event calendar for current and future community art events.

Each month the gallery is transformed to accommodate the artwork of a featured artist or a special event. The Opening Reception is always held during Gallery Walk on the first Friday evening of each month. This tradition has continued for more than sixteen years and is anticipated by locals and visitors for a chance to meet the artists and purchase their favorite selections.

The gallery also rents the space for catered events, special parties and receptions. It is a popular choice for wedding parties, anniversaries and conference gatherings.

We are happy to add “music” to our Gallery & musically inspired artwork by Texas artist, Bart Soutendijk has been delivered. The wire wall art has musicians shown playing their instruments - flute, piano, guitars and sax are all hanging in the gallery to recognize the Spa City Blues Festival and the Hot Springs Jazz Festival.

Kay Aclin’s watercolor titled, AFRICA, has been accepted into MSW 43rd Annual Juried Exhibition opening at the Butler Center Galleries Aug 9 and runs thru Oct 26. Aclin is a signature member of the MidSouthern Watercolorists. A native of Hot Springs, Aclin is a resident of Ft. Smith. Congratulations, Kay!

On August 30, Blue Moon will again serve as the location for the artist reception for Memphis artist George Hunt , hosted by the Spa City Blues Society. All blues members are invited. George will be signing his 2013 Blues Festival Poster. (George is a native of Hot Springs.)
